Other-centric
|
Other-centric describes someone who places a high value on caring for, serving, and being considerate of other people. People high in this trait may feel most themselves when they are helping, supporting, protecting, or making life easier for someone else. Their attention naturally goes toward the needs and feelings of others. At its best, this trait can show up as generosity, compassion, loyalty, and a strong sense of responsibility toward people who depend on them. At its extreme, it can become self-neglect, guilt-driven helping, or difficulty saying no even when their own needs matter too. A recognizable fictional example is Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings. He represents someone whose loyalty and care for another person become a central source of strength, courage, and purpose. |
